Located along the banks of the Saint-Laurent and Saint-Jacques rivers, Brossard is a suburban area on Montreal’s south shore. Not only is Brossard home to many cultural communities, it is the only officially multicultural city in Quebec.

With the opening of the Champlain Bridge in 1962, Brossard became directly linked to the island of Montreal, leading to booming development. Its population has grown ever since, from 3,400 inhabitants in 1958 to over 80,000 today. Since 2006, Brossard has been known for its Quartier DIX30 commercial lifestyle centre, brimming with stores, boutiques, restaurants, cinema and hotels.
