As its name suggests, Laval-Ouest is a Laval neighbourhood located in the western part of former Île Jésus. It’s bordered to the northwest by the Mille-Îles River; just across the river lies the town of Saint-Eustache.
Until 1951, Laval-Ouest was known as the municipality of “village de Plage Laval”. In 1962, it annexed part of Sainte-Dorothée, which considerably increased its size. Laval-Ouest is one of the 14 municipalities that amalgamated in 1965 to form the city of Laval. While its residential neighbourhoods tend to be quite old, recent developments have added to the supply of available properties.
